Q:  Are any of the products I purchase here guaranteed?
A:  Absolutely.  Any purchase you make from Cynona International is 100% guaranteed.   Refer to our shipping policy page for complete details.

Q:  What is Cynona’s policy regarding the product lines they offer?
A:  If you’ve looked at other websites offering skin care and lifestyle products, you’ll notice that many of them are trying to be all things to all people.  At Cynona, we have used our years of experience in the business to carefully choose products that we feel are unique and combine a very high level of quality and value.  While we will always be adding new products, we will never feature a product line just because everybody else does.

Q:   What does pH mean and why is it important for my skin to be 5.5 pH?
A:  The skin has a chemical barrier called the vein barrier that neutralizes excessive acid/alkaline substances that we come in contact with on a daily basis.  When that is compromised, the skin can develop rashes, severe dehydration, even eczema.  Using soothing, healing creams and serums from seaweeda helps to keep skin healthy and balanced.

Q:  What is one of the most healing ingredients in skin care?
A:  Seaweed, in many forms in creams, lotions, toner, serums and masques.

Q:  What is it in seaweed that is healing?
A:  Trace elements found in seaweed are directly compatible with the cellular fluid of our skin.

Q:  How can using products with seaweed prevent dehydration?
A:  They equalize pH, and allow the trace elements to rebalance the water vs oil ratio on the epidermis.

Q:  How often should I use products with seaweed to keep my skin soft?
A:  Everyday, along with sunscreen.

Q:  What number on sunscreen products is the best?
A:  For everyday a 15 SPF is god.  For direct sunlight exposure a 30-40 if under one hour.  If you are skiing, swimming or otherwise exposing skin to direct sun combined with stressful elements of heat or win, a SPF 65 or complete block is best.

Q:  What is the difference between a day and a night cream?
A:  The concentration of oils are higher in night treatments to nourish the skin.

Q:  What is the purpose of cyclomethicon dimethicone in skin creams and serums?
A:  Silicone molecules are perfectly spherical and tiny and an inert delivery method of bringing seaweed’s healing elements to the skin.

Q:  What constitutes a soothing cream or serum?
A:  Certain seaweeds contain antihistamine qualities that help fight against blood vessel dilation.

Q:  Can air pollution cause skin to itch and blotch?
A:  Absolutely.  The particulates in the air can create an acidic film on the skin.  It is very important to keep a cream on the skin to reinforce your skin’s natural defenses.

Q:  Why does my skin feel dry but greasy in the winter?
A:  Applying cream to dehydrated skin, common in the winter, that has not been exfoliated is of no benefit.  Skin should be exfoliated daily to allow the products to heal.

Q:  How do I exfoliate?
A:  At Cynona, we have several different exfoliating products which do a wonderful job of gently removing dead skin cells and preparing the skin for re-moisturizing.

Q:  Why use an eye cream?
A:  The skin around the eyes is four times thinner than the rest of the face.  There are no sebaceous oil glands around the eye area, so it dehydrates quickly.  It is also ten times more sensitive to allergens so it needs to be protected.

Q:  How often should I use an eye cream?
A:  Day and night!

Q:  How is an eye cream, gel, or lotion different than a night cream?
A:  They are thicker to stay put and have been tested for hypoallergenic reactions.

Q:  What is the advantage of oils applied to the skin, and how does olive oil rate in products as a moisturizer?
A:  Oils or lipids bind with water molecules temporarily to smooth dry skin and give it a shine.  Olive oil if extremely compatible with most everyone, and is molecularly smaller than most oils so it can stay on the skin longer.

Q:  What does aromatherapy mean?
A:  High quality cosmetics and home fragrance products will use the best naturally derived oils and essence from plants, flowers, roots, leaves, and fruits to appeal to the sense of smell and well-being.

Q:  Why do I choose the scent of one lotion over another repeatedly?
A:  The sense of smell more than any other sense relates to memory and we reach unconsciously to scents from our lives relating to events and emotions that make us happy.

Q:  What is the benefit of natural oils and essence over synthetic oils and fragrances?
A:  Synthetic oils and fragrances may temporarily feel and smell good, but natural oils are much more compatible with the skin, last much longer, and actually create positive physiological effects.
